Role-based Machine Learning Agents

Today, Logic Designers work with Architects to implement Electronic Products.

Logic Designers have years of formal education and experience in converting Block Diagrams to Schematics and Bills-of-Materials (BOMs).

To multiply herself, the Logic Designer trains a Software Agent (SA) on her role.

All of the same Steps and Processes are taught to the SA as when the person is selecting components and connecting them according to the Block Diagram provided by an Architect.

What is it?

Design is a software agent that allows System Architects to output a Schematic and BOM from a combination of Technical and Non-Technical Specifications.

Architect connects to Design to provide the needed Block Diagram.

Process

The specifications are entered in a standard closed language file that describes the type of electronic product being designed.

Technical specs include:

Non-Technical Specs include:

Deliverables

Based on the Specs, Design chooses the electronic components and outputs them, including a power supply, as a Schematic and BOM ready to go through board layout.

The Schematic and BOM are pre-approved by the component vendors before the process is completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about the Design software agent.

What does the Design agent do?
Design is a software agent that lets teams go from a block diagram and specifications to a schematic and bill of materials (BOM). It performs the role of a Logic Designer: selecting electronic components, including a power supply, and connecting them according to the block diagram provided by an Architect.

What specifications does the Design agent accept?
Technical specifications include input/output standards (HDMI, USB, WiFi 2.4 GHz, and others), boot-up time, power consumption, and required image, video, or audio transformations. Non-technical specifications include mass-production date, minimum order quantity, target BOM price, and country of origin of components.

What deliverables does the Design agent produce?
Based on the specifications, Design chooses the electronic components and outputs a schematic and a bill of materials, including a power supply — the same deliverables a Logic Designer hands off for manufacturing.
